ASTA Strengthens Global Publishing Partnerships at Beijing International Book Fair 2026

ASTA proudly participated in the 33rd Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) 2026, reaffirming our commitment to building meaningful partnerships within the global publishing community. As one of the world’s leading international publishing events, BIBF provides a valuable platform for publishers, rights professionals, distributors, educational institutions, and industry leaders to connect, exchange ideas, and explore new opportunities for collaboration.

For ASTA, participating in international book fairs is an important part of our mission to make quality educational resources more accessible to learners worldwide. Beyond showcasing our publications, these events enable us to engage directly with publishing professionals, strengthen existing relationships, and develop new collaborations that contribute to the advancement of educational publishing.

Connecting with the Global Publishing Community

Held from 17–19 June 2026, the 33rd Beijing International Book Fair welcomed more than 1,700 publishers and cultural enterprises from over 80 countries and regions, making it one of the largest and most influential publishing events in the world.

Every year, BIBF serves as a meeting point for professionals across the publishing industry. Publishers, rights managers, distributors, booksellers, educational institutions, and cultural organizations gather to exchange ideas, discuss market developments, negotiate rights, and establish partnerships that extend across international markets.

As part of this global community, ASTA participated in BIBF 2026 to connect with publishers, distributors, educational institutions, and industry professionals who share a common goal of expanding access to quality educational content through international collaboration.

Returning to BIBF

BIBF 2026 marked ASTA’s second participation in the Beijing International Book Fair, reflecting our continued commitment to expanding our international publishing network and strengthening relationships with partners around the world.

Returning to the fair also provided an opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces while meeting new publishing professionals from diverse markets. Every discussion, whether with long-standing partners or first-time visitors, offered valuable insights into evolving educational needs and publishing opportunities across different regions.

For ASTA, these conversations are an essential part of building long-term partnerships. They create opportunities to exchange ideas, understand the needs of different markets, and explore how educational resources can support learners in various educational contexts.

Engaging with Distinguished Leaders in the Publishing Industry

One of the highlights of ASTA’s participation at BIBF 2026 was the opportunity to welcome distinguished leaders from the international publishing community to our booth. We were honored to receive a visit from Mr. Zhu Yongxin, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, and Mr. Zhang Mingzhou, Executive Committee Member of the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) and President of the Lifetree Culture Promotion Centre.

Their visit reflected the collaborative spirit that defines international book fairs, where publishers, cultural leaders, and education advocates come together to exchange ideas and strengthen connections across the global publishing industry. For ASTA, the opportunity to engage with respected figures in educational and children’s publishing was both meaningful and encouraging as we continue to expand our international partnerships.

Continuing our journey at BIBF 2026, the ASTA team was also honored to attend Mr. Zhang Mingzhou’s book launch during the World Children’s Book Forum. The event brought together publishing professionals who share a commitment to promoting children’s literature and advancing literacy through international collaboration. Participating in the forum provided valuable insights into current developments in children’s publishing while reinforcing the importance of cross-cultural dialogue in creating books that inspire young readers around the world.

Exploring New Opportunities for Collaboration

International book fairs create an environment where meaningful conversations often become the foundation for future collaborations.

Throughout BIBF 2026, the ASTA team met with publishers, distributors, educational organizations, and industry professionals to introduce our educational programmes, discuss rights licensing opportunities, and explore potential partnerships.

These meetings covered a range of possibilities, from expanding the distribution of educational materials to identifying opportunities for licensing and collaborative publishing initiatives. Each conversation contributed to a broader understanding of how educational publishers can work together to make quality learning resources more widely available.

For ASTA, collaboration extends beyond business development. It is about building relationships based on shared educational values and a mutual commitment to supporting learners through high-quality educational content.

Strengthening Existing Partnerships

ASTA extends our sincere appreciation to all publishers, distributors, educational institutions, rights professionals, and industry colleagues who visited our booth and met with our team during BIBF 2026.

Every conversation, introduction, and exchange of ideas contributes to a stronger international publishing community built on collaboration and shared purpose. We are grateful for the opportunity to reconnect with existing partners, establish new relationships, and explore future collaborations that support meaningful learning for students around the world.

We look forward to continuing the conversations that began at BIBF 2026 and to building lasting partnerships that contribute to the future of educational publishing!
